Agnetha Faltskog

Agnetha is most well-known as a part of ABBA rather than as a solo singer in Sweden. ABBA was one of the top pop groups in history worldwide and commercially. When she left school at the age of 15 Agnetha Faltskog started singing in Bernt Enghardt's band soon gaining fans. Enghardt signed her to a record contract. She soon reached the highest spot on Sweden's charts, with her first single. The singer got engaged, and then was married to Bjorn Ulvaeus. The couple began to join "ABBA'. Through the rest of the eight years, 'ABBA' became one of the best-performing popular acts around the globe with multiple platinum and gold medals throughout the world. Following ABBA she released 3 albums called "Wrap Your Arms Around Me', Eyes of a Woman in addition to I Stand Alone'. The three albums were extremely successful in Sweden. They also became popular across Europe. However, they were not a major hit in America. In the '80s, ABBA's music was the topic of a jukebox musical called 'Mamma Mia!'. Ava DuVernay, born August 24, 1972, in Long Beach California. DuVernay received support from her Aunt Denise when she was an infant. Aunt Denise, who worked night shifts as a nurse, allowed her to explore art and literature as well as the theater in the daylight. DuVernay instantly was captivated when she showed her the 1961 West Side Story film. DuVernay realized that art could be a powerful tool to promote activism. DuVernay was raised by a mother who was aware of her social circle and taught her to utilize the arts as a way of expressing herself.
