Brooke Baldwin

  Brooke Baldwin, born July 12, 1979 was an American journalist and TV host. She worked for CNN from 2008 until 2021. Brooke Baldwin hosted CNN Newsroom on weekdays, airing between 3:00 and 4:00 ET.



 



 Early life and education



 Brooke Baldwin was born and was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a student at The Westminster Schools, an exclusive school for college preparation. In 2001, she graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Spanish and the Hussman School of Journalism and Media in the field of journalism. She also completed her studies in Mexico City at the Universidad Iberoamericana as an undergraduate student.

Ava DuVernay, born August 24, 1972, in Long Beach California. DuVernay received support from her Aunt Denise when she was an infant. Aunt Denise, who worked night shifts as a nurse, allowed her to explore art and literature as well as the theater in the daylight. DuVernay instantly was captivated when she showed her the 1961 West Side Story film. DuVernay realized that art could be a powerful tool to promote activism. DuVernay was raised by a mother who was aware of her social circle and taught her to utilize the arts as a way of expressing herself. DuVernay was a child living with family members in Compton and spent her summers in Lowndes County Alabama in the residence of her father's parents.
